From Coding to Clicks: My Journey Through the Digital World

My career path has been anything but a straight line, and I wouldn’t have it any other way! It’s been a journey of constant learning, adaptation, and a passion for leveraging technology to solve problems and connect with people.

It all started back in 1999, fresh out of DeVry University in Chicago. I dove headfirst into the world of software engineering. Those early years were spent building systems from the ground up, crafting solutions that made a real difference. One of the most rewarding experiences was developing systems for the Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia. It was challenging, but seeing the impact of my work – a commercial point of sales or an HR and accounting system – on improving healthcare services was incredibly fulfilling. I became proficient in a range of languages, from PHP to .NET, and thrived on the problem-solving aspect of coding.

But as the internet evolved, I felt a pull towards a different kind of challenge: understanding how to connect businesses with their audiences online. That led me to Ontario, Canada in 2011, where I immersed myself in the world of digital marketing strategy at WSI.

This was a turning point. Armed with new knowledge, I became a WSI Digital Marketing Consultant in 2014. I had the opportunity to work with some major players, including Saudi Investment Bank, Zamzam Cheraty, Pizza Hut, and Barnys Cafe. From crafting compelling website designs to implementing complex marketing strategies, I helped these businesses thrive in the digital landscape. My coding background gave me a unique edge – I could understand the technical side of things while also creating strategies that resonated with customers.

I even had the opportunity to develop a digital marketing strategy specifically tailored for non-profit organizations – a cause close to my heart.

These days, I’m passionate about sharing my knowledge and experience with the next generation. I currently teach digital marketing and coding courses through reputable institutions like Genova Training and Nokhbah Training Center in the UAE and KSA. It’s incredibly rewarding to see my students gain the skills and confidence they need to succeed in this dynamic field.

The digital world is constantly changing, and that’s what keeps me excited. I’m always seeking out new challenges, exploring emerging technologies, and learning new things. Whether it’s a complex coding project or a cutting-edge marketing campaign, I’m ready to dive in and make a difference.
